The Telangana Government, on the 15th of May, declared Suryapet district free from the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 infection.

Suryapet which was declared as one of the Red Zones for the spread of COVID-19 in Telangana has 0 active cases for the Novel Coronavirus.

The district reported 83 positive cases of the Novel Coronavirus and stood at 2nd position after Hyderabad in terms of COVID-19 cases.

However, on the 15th of May, the authorities concerned to tackle the COVID-19 situation confirmed the recovery of all the 83 COVID-19 patients.

The official said all the patients were discharged from the Gandhi Hospital which is also the deisgnated centre of the Novel Coronavirus in the State.

Meanwhile, Telangana has a total of 1,414 cases of the Novel Coronavirus including 57 fresh cases, registered on the 15th of May.

Telangana Government led by K. Chandrashekar Rao, announced an extension in the lockdown till the 29th of May, to prevent the spread of the infection.
