On the 25th of July, the Supreme Court Collegium elevated six advocates as Judges in the Telangana High Court. 

The decision was taken during a meeting of the Top Court Collegium, headed by the Chief Justice of India N.V. Raman recommended six names to the Central Government.

The elevated advocates as Judges are Mr. Enugula Venkata Venugopal, Mr. Bheemapaka Nagesh, Mr. Pulla Karthik, Mr. Kaja Sharath, Mr. Jaggannagari Sreenivasa Rao and Mr. Namavarapu Rajeshwar Rao.

Notably, as of now,  the Telangana High Court is functioning with a strength of 27 judges including the Chief Justice of Telangana Mr. Ujjal Bhuyan.

With the elevation of six new judges, the total strength of justices at the Telangana High Court would be 33.

Besides Telangana, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended advocates and judicial officers in five other high courts, in India.  Including Telangana, proposal for 20 advocates and 15 judicial officers was cleared by the Top Court Collegium stadium.
