On the 16the of May, 121 Indian passengers arrived at  Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) through special flights under Vande Bharat Mission.

The special flights of Air India brought back 121 Indians from Newark, the United States of America (U.S.A.)

The flight landed at 3:12 A.M., on the 16th of May.  The Vande Bharat Mission was launched recently by the Central Government to evacuate Indians stranded abroad due to the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

The evacuated passengers were ferried after thermal tests and after landing in India, they are being taken to quarantine centres or for self quarantine in hotels.  However, the  Government would not pay for the hotel quarantine facilities, it would be as per the budget of the returnee.

Meanwhile, Telangana reported a total of 1,454 cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 infection with 34 fatalities till the 16th of May.
