The State Cooperative Election Authority, on the 30th of January, released an official notice  regarding the elections for the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Societies (PACS) and the Farmers Service Cooperatives.

According to the notice, the elections would be held on the 15th of February, 2020.

Out of 909 PACS, 906 PACS in 32 districts of Telangana would hold elections.  The PACS in Nalgonda, Rangareddy and Warangal district would not conduct the elections.

The Additional Registrar of State Cooperative Election Authority issued the elections’ schedule after the Telangana Government requested them to conduct the elections at the earliest possible.

After winning the Municipal elections in Telangana, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) wanted to conduct the PACS’ elections soon.  K. Chandrashkar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 29th of January, conducted a meeting with the concerned officials and requested them to conduct the elections in 15 days.

The notification regarding the PACS elections by the election officer would be released on the 3rd of February, whereas the nominations would begin from the 6th of February and continue till the 8th of February.

The scrutiny of nominations would be done on the 9th of February and the 10th of February is the last date for withdrawing nominations.

The PACS elections would be held on the 15th of  February and the counting of votes would be done on the same day.

The elections for office bearers would be held within 3 days from the declaration of results.
