Somesh Kumar, the Chief Secretary of Telangana, on the 26th of September alerted all the district officials regarding rainfall in the State.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) , Telangana is likely to receive heavy rainfall till the 27th of September.

Previously, the Telangana Government officials conducted a meeting and asked all the district officials to be on alert.

In regard to the situation, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar even cancelled approved holidays of district administrative officials.

K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, directed Mr. Kumar to handle the situation.

Mr. Somesh Kumar acting upon the direction of KCR said, “All officers should be at headquarters and take measures to ensure no loss of life and properties. No leaves and permissions for public holidays,” said the Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar.

The CS of Telangana also asked the officials to control the situation, especially in low lying areas and update in detail.

Meanwhile, the IMD forecasted heavy rainfall in Telangana on the 26th of September.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places of Telangana during the day on Saturday, the IMD said.

Besides heavy rainfall, thunderstorms with lightning are likely to take place at isolated places of Telangana.

The weather department predicted moderate to heavy rain at places in West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore, Chittoor, Anantapur, Kadapa and Kurnool districts.

Light to Moderate rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts.
