A massive fire broke out at a hotel in Secunderabad, Telangana, which killed six people and left many injured.

The incident occurred at Ruby Pride Luxury Hotel in Secunderabad on the night of the 12th of September.  The fire accident was due to an explosion in an electric bike charging unit showroom located on the ground floor of the building.  The fire spread to other floors causing death of many people, staying on the first and second floors.  According to sources, at the time of the major accidents, there were 25 guests at the Ruby Pride Luxury Hotel.  As of now, 6 people have confirmed the death, which could increase as many are injured and several are trapped inside the hotel and a rescue operation is underway.

Mr. C.V. Anand said, “There were some 20 to 23 people in the building.  Most of the residents were business people and seem to be north Indians.  The smoke engulfed the building through the staircase.  Some of them seemed to have died because of asphyxiation caused by the smoke.  Four persons died in Gandhi and one in Yashoda.  A woman has also succumbed.”

The Hyderabad Police Commissioner Mr. C.V. Anand is looking into the accident and suspected that either an e-bike or a generator placed in the Ruby Motors showroom exploded leading to the fire.

In addition, the Fire Department Director General (DG) Mr. Sanjay Jain said two fire tenders were pressed into service after the fire broke out at 9:20P.M. 

The injured were rushed to Gandhi Hospital and Yashoda Hospital and are undergoing treatment.

In addition, the Telangana Home Minister Mr. Mahmood Ali and the Cinematography Minister and Sanathnagar Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Talasani Srinivas Yadav also reached the spot to supervise rescue operations.

 

In addition, Mr. Mahmood Ali ordered a probe into the fire accident.
