Mr. Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar who recently quit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) decided to join the opposition, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)

According to sources, Mr. Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar called on Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 24th of October, Monday and discussed the same.  It is to be noted, on Monday the former BJP Rajya Sabha member Mr. Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar left the BJP amid their policies, which he believed to be against the people and not benefit them.  During the interaction with Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, Mr. Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar said he is unhappy with the BJP over policies which is only aiming to benefit corporates and businessmen, avoiding the welfare of the middle class and underprivileged people.

Furthermore, the former BJP member also appreciated Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao for his efforts and numerous measures for developing the handloom sector and the welfare of the weavers in Telangana.

However, the major reason behind the exit of Mr. Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar is over the imposition of GST on the handlooms and textiles by the BJP Government at the Centre.  Notably, Mr. Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar termed the imposed GST as an attempt to weaken the weaver sector.

Now, Mr. Rapolu Anand Bhaskar is likely to join the TRS soon, but an official announcement is yet to be made.

Stay tuned for further updates.
