The Rachankonda Police has launched an anti drug campaign in Hyderabad, on the 11th of January, Wednesday.

In order to spread public awareness on drug abuse and its prevention, the Rachakonda police have decided to start an anti drug campaign.  Mr. P. Sabitha Indra Reddy, the Education Minister of Telangana, inaugurated the campaign at the SYR convention hall in Meerpet. 

Speaking during the programme, Ms. P. Sabitha Indra Reddy said, the State Government led by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) under the leadership of Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao is committed to eradicating any type of drug abuse.  She added that the State Police would fight against drugs as a social responsibility and involve everyone to make it a social movement to achieve the goal of ‘Drug-Free Telangana.’

Mr. D.S. Chauhan, the Rachakonda Police Commissioner, urged students not to try drugs in their lifetime and said, they would conduct awareness drives in all colleges and hostels, as a precaution to control drug abuse.  He added, “Stringent measures will also be taken to destroy the entire drug chain, right from the dealers, drug peddlers to consumers.”
