On the 9th of May, Monday, Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, expressed condolences to the families, who lost their kin in the tragic Kamareddy accident.

According to sources, on the 8th of May, a tragic accident killed 9 people, after a Tata Ace rammed into a truck.  Of the total, two died on spot at Hasanpalli gate in Ellareddy.  In addition, two others died while being taken to Banswada hospital and the other two succumbed to injuries while on the way to Ellareddy government hospital. 

As per the sources, the deceased were identified as driver Sailu (35), Anjavva (35 years,) Veeramani (35 years,) Lachavva (60 years,) Sayavva (38 years,) Ellaiah (53 years,) Poshaiah (60 years,) Gangavva (45 years) and Veeravva (70 years.) 

Taking to Twitter, Mr. Narendra Modi expressed grief over the fatal accident and announced Rs.2 lakh ex-gratia to the kin of the deceased and Rs. 50 for the ones who are undergoing treatment at the hospital.  The tweet read, “Distressed by the loss of lives due to an accident in Kamareddy district, Telangana. Condolences to the bereaved families and prayers with the injured. Rs 2 lakh each from Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) would be given to the next of kin of the deceased. The injured would be given Rs 50,000.”

Meanwhile, the Telangana Police has registered a case and an investigation in the accident is underway.
