K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, is expected to start campaigning for the Municipal elections in Telangana after the 27th of December.

After coming from vacation, KTR would kickstart the campaigning for the civic polls in the State and would also strategise for the polls, strengthening the Party leaders and candidates contesting the elections.

Besides, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) which is confident of winning the elections, asked the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to select candidates in respective constituencies.

Mr. Rao who is on a personal vacation to a foreign country is expected to return on the 27th of December.

As soon as Mr. Rao returns he would conduct a meeting with the MLAs, the Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) discussing the polls.

During the meeting, the Party would also finalise the candidates representing the TRS in the Municipal elections.

The elections for 120 municipalities and 10 municipal corporations are scheduled to be held on the 22nd of January, 2020 and the notification regarding the same would be issued on the 7th of January.

The polling would be conducted for 2,727 wards in 120 municipalities and 385 wards in 10 municipal corporations in Telangana.

Though the election notification is yet to be declared officially, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into effect from the 23rd of December.
