Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy directed the authorities to design new metro rail routes to benefit the maximum number of passengers. He directed authorities to cancel the Rayadurgam-Airport route proposed by the earlier government.

Revanth Reddy on Tuesday took a review on new metro rail routes in the city. Revanth asked metro rail MD to focus on identifying the short distance busy routes which will help reduce the traffic congestion in the city.

Authorities explained to Revanth that the 31 kilometer long metro rail line from Rayadurg to Shamshabad Airport costs around Rs. 6,250 crores. Revanth asked authorities to design a new alignment via MGBS, Old city to Shamshabad airport via LB Nagar.

14 KM long LB Nagar to Chanda Nagar, 23 km long LB Nagar to Airport corridor, 8 km long LB Nagar to Hayath Nagar are approved in the meeting.
