Mr. K.T. Rama Rao, the Information Technology and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, distributed handloom sarees to women workers in Telangana.

KTR on the 6th of January, Thursday, distributed sarees to Anganwadi and Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers at Pragathi Bhavan, Hyderabad, Telangana.  Mr. K.T.Rama Rao distributed sarees along with the Telangana Tribal Welfare Minister Ms. Satyavathi Rathod.

In addition, the Telangana Minister also launched a jute bag manufacturing by transgenders. The government took this decision after hiking salaries thrice and giving 30 % Pay Revision Commission (PRC) to employees. 

Besides, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government also offered handloom sarees to all Anganwadi staff, including teachers and ayas in Telangana.  According to sources, there are 67,411 Anganwadi teachers and ayas working in the centres across the State. 

The decision to distribute handloom sarees was taken ahead of the Telugu festival pongal, which would be celebrated on the 14th and the 15th of January.
