K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana and  T. Harish Rao, the  released Godavari water to Ranganayaka Sagar Reservoir.

The developments were held on the 24th of April, in the form of a small event, when both the State Cabinet ministers switched on one of the four pumps and released water into the reservoir.

The release of water was a part of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) Project with an aim of providing water to all districts of Telangana for irrigation purposes.

The water was released to the 3 TMC capacity reservoir of Chandapur village in Chinnakodur mandal, from the Surge Pool in Siddipet.

The 3 TMC capacity of reservoir would be held to irrigate 1,14,000 acres of land in Siddipet and Rajanna Sircilla districts of Telangana.  The water was released after the ministers offered prayers at the Ranganayaka Swamy Temple before leaving for the pump house.

Both KTR and T. Harish Rao maintained social distancing and followed the guidelines of lockdown.
