On the 14th of May, Saturday, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Minister Mr. K.T. Rama Rao is all set to inaugurate the Buddhavanam project developed in an area vast over 274 acres at Nagarjunasagar.  The TRS cadres and workers made all the necessary arrangements for the inauguration event.

Developed for Rs. 100 crores, the Buddhavanam Project is Asia’s biggest Buddhavanam project.  Ahead of the launch, the Tourism Minister of Telangana Mr. V. Srinivas Goud visited the region and inspected the arrangement.  On the 11th of May, Mr. V. Srinivas Goud said that all elaborate arrangements have been made for the inauguration ceremony.  The Minister held a meeting with tourism and Buddhavanam project officials and discussed the preparations for the ceremony.  

As per the directions of The Telangana Chief Minister Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, all facilities have been made at the Buddhavanam project to attract international Buddhist spiritual tourists. The place would help to boost the tourism of Telangana, especially attracting Buddhist devotees during the international Buddhist tourism circuit.  Furthermore, speaking of the project, the main attraction of the Buddhavanam project is the 21-meter-high hollow Maha Stupa with a 24-meter radius commemorating the ancient Amaravati /Sriparvata Stupas, constructed at the center of the project site. 

Notably, the Stupa is embellished with sculptures depicting the life and ministry of Buddha. Under the dome of Maha Stupa.  In addition, over 40 Jataka sculptures were installed at the project site and replicas of 13 prominent Buddhist stupas from across the country and including those in Southern Asia have also been developed.

The area of the project is divided into eight segments to celebrate the eightfold path of the Buddha (Astangamarga.)

The inauguration event would be attended by TRS ministers, Party leaders, and other prominent politicians in Telangana.
