K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, finally spoke about the ongoing rumours of K.T. Rama, taking over as the next CM of the State.

Since the past month, rumours about KTR taking over as the next Telangana CM and as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President, were making headlines. The vague rumours got base after several TRS ministers and senior leaders commented and said, KTR is qualified enough to take over and the TRS would happily accept Mr. K. T. Rama Rao as the next CM.

However, K. Chandrashekar Rao, on the 7th of February, conducted the TRS Executive Committee meeting and dismissed these rumours.

Mr. K Chandrashekar Rao said, there would be no change of leadership in Telangana.

KCR said, “I am very healthy. I will continue as the Chief Minister for the next one decade.”

Mr. Rao also asked Party leaders and ministers not to speculate about something which they are unaware.

Mr. Rao said, “Although I am physically and mentally healthy. Some ministers, MLAs and other leaders are talking unnecessarily about the change of Chief Minister.”

Giving a strict warning to Party leaders in Telugu, Mr. Rao said, “Maatladite kaallu viraga godathaa (If you speak, I will break your legs,) karru kalchi vaatha pedathaa (I will brand you with burning stick), bandakesi baadutaa (I will bang your head on a rock) party nunchi bayata paarestaa (I will throw you out of the party.)”

Meanwhile, highlighting the upcoming TRS Membership Drive, Mr. Rao said the drive would be launched on the 12th of February.

Mr. Rao set a target of enrolling not less than 50,000 members in each of the 119 Assembly segments.

The election of new committees of the party from the ward level to the State level would commence on the 1st of March.

In addition, the State President of the TRS would be elected on the 27th of April.

According to the sources, the TRS is going to organise a huge public meeting on the 27th of April 27, marking it the formation day of the TRS.

Yesterday’s Executive Committee Meeting was attended by TRS members, MLAs, MLCs and Ministers.

Stay tuned for further updates.
