Mr.  K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, is scheduled to chair a Cabinet meeting, on the 12th of April, Tuesday.

The meeting which is going to be held at 2:00 P.M., would discuss the ongoing paddy procurement issue between the Telangana Government and the Central Government.   Furthermore, the Cabinet would also discuss the deadline set by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government to the Centre over the paddy procurement.

Notably, during the day long Dharna in Delhi, Mr.  K. Chandrashekar Rao placed a 24 hour deadline to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central Government, for paddy procurement from the farmers of Telangana.

The paddy procurement issue between the TRS Government and the BJP led Central Government intensified with the Telangana Government’s protest launch.  While the KCR Government demanded 100% paddy procurement by the Centre, the Union Minister declined to purchase paddy from farmers this season.  In regard to this, the TRS launched a  series of protests on the 4th of April.
