Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, is planning to float a national party.

However, the final decision regarding this proposal is likely to be taken during a special Cabinet meeting, scheduled on the 19th of June.  The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government leaders proposed the idea, during a meeting, held on the 10th of June, which was approved for further discussion.

Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, is making efforts to go national and establish a third front against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its opposition, the Indian National Congress.  To strengthen the third front, the TRS President met with the leaders of different state governments like Ms. Mamata Banerjee, Mr. M.K. Stalin, Mr. Uddhav Thackeray, and Mr. H.D. Kumaraswamy in the past few months.

However, the progress in the establishment of the third federal front is not as per the expectations of the TRS, especially when the national elections are scheduled in 2024.

With the idea of the new national party of the TRS, the leaders are likely to process the registration of the new party with the Election Commission of India.

Meanwhile, the BJP slammed K. Chandrashekar Rao for his attempts of making a national third front, against Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India.
