Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, laid the foundation stone for Hyderabad Airport Express Metro, on the 9th of December, Friday.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government sanctioned an amount of Rs. 6,250 crore for the project.  The metro would be 31 km long, connecting IT hub at Mindspace Junction and the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad.

Furthermore, there is a dedicated Metro Rail Right of Way (RoW) in the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and the Airport Express Metro Corridor would be taken to RGIA through this dedicated RoW of ORR.   In addition, the Airport Express Metro Corridor would take off from Raidurg Metro terminal station at Mindspace Junction and last stop would be RGIA, Shamshabad.  In between, there would be stations like Biodiversity Junction, Khajaguda road and touch Nanakramguda junction on the Outer Ring Road (ORR.)

The project was launched for construction after Mr. K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, announced the airport metro express.

During the event of laying the foundation stone, the TRS ministers like Mr. K.T. Rama Rao, Mr. Talasan Srinivas Yadav, the Animal Husbandry Minister of Telangana and Mr. Srinivas Yadav, the Labour Minister participated. In addition, Ch. Malla Reddy, Ms. G. Vijaya Laxmi, the Mayor of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and the Telangana State Chief Secretary Mr. Somesh Kumar were also present at the event.
