K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana, hoisted the national flag at Golconda Fort in Telangana.

The Hyderabad Police arranged tight security and curbed traffic around the Golconda Fort for the Independence Day celebrations.

According to sources, the road from Ramdev Guda to Golconda Fort was closed from 7:00 A.M., to 12:00 P.M.

Traffic restrictions were also imposed at the Secunderabad Parade Ground.

According to sources, handbags, cameras, tiffins and other such items were not allowed in the Parade Grounds until the event ended. 

Anjani Kumar, the Commissioner of Hyderabad, supervised the security arrangements and issued the traffic notification across Hyderabad.

This is the first Independence Day the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is celebrating after coming back to power in the State.
