Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, expressed condolences on the demise of  Mr. Prakash Singh Badal, the former Chief Minister of Punjab.

In a statement issued on Tuesday night, the 25th of April, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family of Mr. Prakash Singh Badal.  He remembered the efforts put by the leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) for the development of Punjab from the village sarpanch to Union Minister and Chief Minister of the northern state.

Mr. Prakash Singh Badal (95) died on the night of the 25th of April, Tuesday, at Fortis Hospital in Mohali, Punjab.  The hospital authority issued an official statement and confirmed the demise of Mr. Prakash Singh Badal.  “Despite appropriate medical management S Parkash Singh Badal succumbed to his illness.  Fortis Hospital Mohali deeply condoles the death of S Parkash Singh Badal,” read the statement issued by the hospital.

Besides KCR, Andhra Pradesh CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other political leaders also expressed their condolences to Mr. Prakash Singh Badal.  

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led Punjab Government declared holiday in the State and announced the funeral of Mr. Prakash Singh Badal, with full state honours.

The final rites of the SAD Patriarch is scheduled to be held on the 26th of April, Wednesday.
