On the 26th of September, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, met with the Union ministers.

On Sunday, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao held a meeting with Mr. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister and Mr. Piyush Goyal, the Union Commerce Minister. The meeting was held after a high level meeting regarding Maoist affected states. Mr. Amit Shah called for the high level meeting at Vigyan Bhavan, Delhi to discuss the Naxal affected issues in several Indian states.

It is to be noted, Mr. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister called for a special meeting with the chief ministers of Maoist affected States. The meeting was scheduled to be held on the 26th of September, around 11:00 A.M., at Vigyan Bhavan, Delhi. The meeting was attended by chief Ministers of Telangana, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh was also invited to attend the high level meeting. However, due to leg sprain injury, he had to cancel his Delhi visit and was unable to attend the meeting.

Mr. Amit Shah chaired the meeting and discussed the Maoist issue like security enhancement, development work and others, especially during the Maoist Week Celebration.

To attend the meeting, Mr. K. Chandrashekhar Rao left for Delhi on the 24th of September. During the three day visit, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao met with Mr. Gajendra Shekhawat, the Union Jal Shakti, Mr. Amit Shah and Mr. Piyush Goyal. While the meeting with Mr. Gajendra Shekhavat was on the 25th of September, Mr. Amit Shah and Mr. Piyush Goyal met with Mr. Rao on Sunday, the 26th of September.

In Sunday’s meeting with Mr. Amit Shah and Piyush Goyal, Mr. Rao discussed the development works of Telangana and welfare schemes. Mr. Rao also urged the Union Minister to provide funds for maintenance of Naxals in the region.

During a separate meeting with Mr. Piyush Goyal, KCR discussed the agriculture sector and investment. He urged Mr. Goyal to see if the Food Corporation of India (FCI) purchases 50 lakh tonnes of coarse paddy during the kharif season and 80 lakh tonnes during rabi season. The Telangana Chief Minister also urged for the intervention of the Central Government, in procurement of 90% of paddy cultivation, which would benefit farmers.

Both the meetings were said to be fruitful, as the latter discussed several issues in Telangana and sought support of the Central Government.

Concluding the meetings and the high level meeting, called by the Union Minister, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao returned to Hyderabad on the morning of the 27th of September.
