Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, gave approval to establish a fruit market near Shamshabad Airport.

The new fruit market would be set up on 16 acres of land of the Waqf property, boosting the economy. The proposal to set up the fruit market was of Mr. Akbaruddin Owaisi, the General Secretary of the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM.) He said that setting up the fruit market at Waqf property would not only safeguard the endowment property but generate an income.

Responding to the proposal, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao said, he does not have any objection to a second fruit market. He also asked Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, the Home Minister of Telangana and Mr. Nirajan Reddy, the Agriculture Minister of Telangana, to look into the establishment matter and developments. He asked the two Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) ministers to initiate talks with the fruit merchants, asking them to prepare a plan for the set up of the market.

The developments and approval was made during the Telangana Assembly session. Starting from the 24th of September, the Telangana Monsoon Assembly session is concluding today, the 8th of October.
