In Telangana’s Hyderabad, Chinmay Siddharth Shah, a 9th standard student adopted a cheetah at Nehru Zoological Park.

Chinmay Siddharth, who turned 14 years old on the 17th of September, got inspired by the arrival and release of eight extinct Cheetahs from Namibia, Africa and adopted one in Hyderabad.  The step was taken under the part of the animal adoption programme. 

Notably, Chinmay has a passion for wildlife and conservation.  This is not the first time, Chinmay has adopted an animal.   During the first lockdown amid the Wuhan Virus (COVID-19,)  Chinmay adopted a tiger at Nehru Zoological Park on his 12th birthday.  His younger sister Havisha Naveen Jain joined him in the adoption of a Cheetah too.

Chinmay along with his father Siddharth Kanthilal Shah, grandfather Kanthilal Shah visited the Zoological Park and handed over a cheque of Rs. 37,500 to Mr. S. Rajashekar, Curator, Nehru Zoological Park for the adoption of a Cheetah named ‘Abdullah’ for a period of six months.
