On the 4th of April, Tuesday, a Varanasi bound IndiGo flight made an emergency landing at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Shamshabad airport.

According to the sources, the flight made an emergency landing due to a reported technical glitch.  The incident was reported and confirmed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

In a tweet, the DGCI said, an IndiGo Flight 6E897 had taken off from Bengaluru for Varanasi but made an emergency landing at 6:15 A.M., after diverting to Shamshabad airport.  Officials have cited a “technical problem” for the diversion.  The concerned official confirmed the safety of all the 137 passengers on board.  

Meanwhile, the DGCA has ordered an inquiry into the incident, said a senior official.
