The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ for rainfall in the regions of Telangana and Hyderabad.

The IMD said that the State Capital is expected to witness more rainfall for the next two to three days.  Furthermore, on the 25th of May, Hyderabad woke up to a cloudy sky.

The Hyderabad weather department forecasted thunderstorms and lightning, with light to moderate rainfall.  The alert has not been issued only for Hyderabad, but several regions of Hyderabad, confirmed sources.

However, despite downpour, there is no relief in heat, as the temperature is between 30 to 40 degree celsius, making it hot for the residents of the capital city.  Yesterday, the 24th of May, Wednesday, the city experienced soaring temperatures, with the mercury level between 36.7- 40.7 degrees Celsius. 

In addition, Bahadurpura recorded a maximum temperature of 36.7 degrees Celsius, while Tirumalagiri witnessed a scorching 40.7 degrees Celsius.  Areas such as Tirumalagiri, Shaikpet, Khairatabad, Maredpally and Bandlaguda witnessed temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, besides Telangana, the Telugu State of Andhra Pradesh is also expected to witness heavy to moderate rainfall for then next two days, said the IMD.
