The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of heavy to moderate rainfall in Hyderabad, Telangana.

On the 8th of October, the Hyderabad Weather Department and the IMD alerted the State Government for heavy to moderate rainfall in the low lying regions of Telangana and Hyderabad.

This is the second time in the past week that the IMD issued a rain alert for the State. Recently, due to cyclone Gulab, normal life has come to a halt, now once again, with another rain alert, the City people are expected to witness huge downpour for the next three days.

On the 8th of October, the IMD issued rain alert Aand said, “Light to moderate rainfall is predicted in Telangana for the next three days due to the winds from North and Northeast direction towards Telangana.”

In addition, the Hyderabad Weather Centre also predicted rainfall for the next three days.

The major reason behind the rainfall is a trough which has formed from the north Central Arabian Sea moving to the west central Bay of Bengal covering Rayalaseema and Andhra Pradesh coastal lines.

In addition, a low pressure area is expected to be formed over the north Andaman region which will intensify further travelling towards the northwest direction and finally reach south Odisha and north coastal Andhra in the next four to five days.

With this, the two Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are expected to witness heavy rainfall in the coming days.

The IMD alerted people and asked fishermen not to venture near the sea region. People residing in the low lying regions of the two states were also asked to evacuate the place and move to a safer place.

In addition, the respective State Governments prepared for the rescue operation in Telangana and A.P.
