The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a rain alert in Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) for the next four days.

Due to a low pressure in the Bay of Bengal on the 9th of November, the state is going to witness heavy to moderate rainfall. The IMD forecasted heavy rains in the coastal areas and Rayalaseema districts of Andhra Pradesh. The rainfall is expected till the 12th of November.

Besides Rayalaseema region, Chittoor, Kadapa, Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur, Krishna, East Godavari and West Godavari districts would also receive heavy rains. Moderate rainfall is expected in Anantapur, Kurnool, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram district.

Besides Andhra Pradesh, the IMD also alerted The neighboring state Telangana of heavy rainfall. Due to the low pressure on the Bay of Bengal, the two Telugu states would witness rainfall. Rice and cotton farmers are worried due to heavy rains as their crops would be damaged.

People in the southern states are advised not to venture out unnecessarily and fishermen were also advised to avoid going to sea coast areas.
