The Indian Meteorological Department confirmed that the southwest monsoon would hit Telangana, on the 12th of June.   Initially, the monsoon was supposed to enter the Telugu State on the 5th of June but got delayed.

Besides the IMD, the Hyderabad Meteorological Department also said,  the monsoon has slowed down due to weak sea winds in Arabia and the Bay of Bengal. It is said that the moisture in the oceans does not come to the land due to the lack of winds.  The HMD further added that the winds are likely to intensify in two to three days thus giving a way for the monsoon to enter Telangana.

Meanwhile, ahead of the southwest monsoon, the temperature has risen in 22 districts with an average above 40 degrees Celsius.

On the 8th of June, Wednesday, the highest daytime temperature was recorded at 45.2 degrees in Jainath of Adilabad district.   In addition, the HMD warned the State of hailstorms in Adilabad, Komurambheem, Asifabad, and Mancherial districts.
