The Sunday Funday event organised near Hussain Sagar Lake of Tank Bund, Hyderabad, was a major hit. Hundreds of people across the City came and participated in the event, initiated by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government.

The concept of Sunday Funday is to let the citizens of Hyderabad enjoy the public space without the hustle of traffic at the major public spot, Tank Bund. The State Government and the State Police organised events like Telangana State Police Band Parade, orchestra of Telugu songs, Oggu Dolu (Telangana tribal dance,) Gussadi (ethnic festival dance of Telangana,) Bonalu Kolatam (tribal dance during Bonalu festival) and fireworks. During this 8 hour duration, movement of vehicles was prohibited in the area. The idea of traffic free Tank Bund was in effect since the 29th of August.

Rama Rao, the Information Technology and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, to have traffic free Sundays at Tank Bund so that people could enjoy the space.
