The last rites of D. Chandrasekhar, the loco pilot (driver) of a Multi Modal Transport System (MMTS) train, are scheduled to be held on the 18th of November.

On the 11th of November, around 10:30 A.M., the MMTS train which Chandrasekhar was driving, after departing from the Malakpet station, collided with the Kurnool-Secunderabad Hundry Intercity Express near the Kacheguda Railway Station.

Chandrasekhar was stuck in the damaged engine for 8 hours and sustained serious injuries.  He was taken to a private hospital in Hyderabad for treatment.

However, on the night of the 16th of November, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.  After the postmortem at Osmania General Hospital, on the 17th of November, Chandrasekhar’s body was shifted to Eluru, his hometown.

D. Chandrasekhar’s last rites would take place at Firangulu Dibba in Eluru, Telangana.
