In Hyderabad, the City Police organized a mega run as part of the Swatantra Bharata Vajrotsavalu celebrations.  Organized on the 11th of August, the run because of Independence Day would start from the Integrated Command and Control Centre to the NTR Bhavan.

Notably, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana kicked off the two-week-long ‘Swatantra Bharatha Vajrotsavam’ (Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Independence) at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC.)  The organized run on the 11th of August is under the celebration, launched to celebrate the 75th Independence Day, on the 15th of August 2022.

Mr. Mahmood Ali, the Home Minister of Telangana, Mr. T. Srinivas Yadav, the Cinematography Minister of Telangana, Mr. M. Mahender Reddy, the Director General of Police (DGP,) Mr. C.V. Anand, the Commissioner Police of Hyderabad and other police officials would take part in the marathon event.

The run was flagged off by Mr. Mahmood Ali, which was later joined by hundreds of citizens and police officials.

Besides Hyderabad, a ‘Freedom Run’ has been organized in the Old City, starting from Falaknuma Palace to Charminar.  Students and youngsters participated in huge numbers in the run, which was flagged off by Mr.  P. Sai Chaitanya, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (South.) 

Furthermore, several such events were organized at the local level by the city police across Hyderabad.

In addition, a sapling plantation program was also held at various police stations on the morning of the 11th of August.

It is to be noted that on the 15th of August 2022, India would mark its 75 years of Independence, which would be a grand celebration across India.
