In Hyderabad, the City Traffic Police announced certain traffic directions/restrictions on Tuesday, the 9th of August.  The restrictions were imposed in the view of the Bibi ka Alam procession in the old Hyderabad.

Notably, the Bibi Ka Alam procession is one of the largest processions held in Hyderabad.  Elephants are organized for the massive procession on Moharram, scheduled on the 9th of August.  The Muharram procession organizer brought the elephant Madhuri from Kolhapur to carry the Bibi Ka Alam to Hyderabad.  The trained elephant, mahout, and caretakers arrived in Hyderabad recently and are currently at the Quli Qutb Shah Urban Development Authority office. 

As per the Hyderabad Traffic Police, the vehicular restrictions would be from 12 noon to 10:00 P.M., on the procession route between Bibi ka Alawa Dabeerpura to Masjid-e-Ilahi Chaderghat.

According to sources, the procession would pass through Bibi ka Alawa, Shaik Faiz Kaman, Yakutpura Road, Etebaar Chowk, Alijah Kotla, Charminar, Gulzar Houz, Panjesha, Mirchowk police station, Mir Alam Mandi, Darulshifa grounds, Azakhana–e-Zohra, Kali Khabar and culminate near Masjid–e-Ilahi Chaderghat.

During the procession, vehicles would not be allowed on the procession route.  To ensure smooth movement of the procession, the Traffic Police asked the public to cooperate with the police and follow the issues restrictions.
