Hyderabad’s Koheda region would soon have a wholesale fish market, organised by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Government.

Mr. Talasani Srinivas Yadav, the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister of Telangana, announced a wholesale fish market with modern facilities.  The market would be set up on 10 acres at a cost of Rs. 50 crores at Koheda on the outskirts of the City.

In regard to this, Mr. Talasani Srinivas Yadav held a review meeting on the 6th of January, Friday.   The Ministry proposed fish market, along with the wholesale market, a retail market, a cold storage and canteen facilities. 

Mr. Talasani Srinivas Yadab said that the fisheries sector has registered tremendous growth since the formation of Telangana under the leadership of Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana.

Highlighting the growth of the fish production, Mr. Talasani Srinivas Yadav said the production has gone up to 4 lakh tonnes from 1.9 lakh tonnes since the State’s formation.
