On the 11th of June, seven policemen working at Banjara Hills police station tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus.

The incident comes as a shocker to the police department as the seven policemen came in contact with many other officials.  The Police department immediately sent all the primary contact to quarantine and conducted COVID-19 test for them.

The frontline workers are falling prey to the deadly virus including doctors, sanitary staff, medical staff and policemen. Along with the commoners, the public representatives are also getting infected with the virus leaving the people in a state of panic. Last week, the doctors and other medical staff working in Gandhi and NIMS tested positive for coronavirus.

The state has been witnessing a massive spike in coronavirus positive cases. On Wednesday, around 191 cases were reported across the state including 143 in GHMC limits followed by 11 persons each in Medchal and Sangareddy districts. Eight from Rangareddy, four from Mahbubnagar, three each from Jagtial and Medak, two each from Nagarkurnool and Karimnagar, one each from Nizamabad, Vikarabad, Nalgonda and Siddipet infected with the virus.
