The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) is all set to provide commuters access to movies, games and music of their choice without them having to use their mobile data on Metro trains.

The HMRL, in association with SugarBox, is going to launch seamless access to an app which would allow passengers to watch movies, listen to music and play games using local WiFi, free of cost.

N.V.S. Reddy, the Managing Director of HMRL and a representative of the SugarBox Network signed an agreement and inaugurated the SugarBox zones in all the trains and at 10 major Metro stations.

Passengers travelling in the Metro can now scan the QR code and watch their favourite shows.  As of now, the SugarBox zones have access to the content available on Zee5. Users of both Android and iOS phones need to download the FreePlay app to enjoy watching free content.

N.V.S. Reddy said people spend approximately 35 to 40 minutes on trains and this service would provide them entertainment.

The SugarBox zones are expected to be up and running across all the Hyderabad Metro lines by January 2020.

Stay tuned for further updates.
