On the 14th of June, Tuesday, the Hayathnagar Police issued notice to Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Telangana.  The notice was in regard to the alleged insult of the Telangana Chief Minister Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao.  The latter organized a skit, which defamed the State Chief Minister and insulted him.

Besides notice to Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the Telangana Police arrested two BJP leaders Ms. Rani Rudramma and Mr. Daruvu Yellanna, currently under custody.

Meanwhile, the police has asked Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar to appear before the police in connection with a case booked against him.   Notably, on the 10th of June, the Hayathnagar Police registered a case against the BJP President Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Mr. Jitta Balakrishna Reddy for hate speeches and instigating violence in the region, during a public meeting.  The case was registered under Section 41 A of Criminal Procedure Act.  Other charges in which Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Mr. Jitta Balakrishna Reddy were booked are, the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 114 (abettor present when offense is committed,) 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 505(2) (statements causing public mischief, promoting enmity).)

The case was registered on the complaint of Mr. Y. Satish Reddy, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Social Media Convenor.
