Gutha Sukhender Reddy, the former Member of Parliament (MP) of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) was elected as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) of Telangana.

The Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) of the TRS, on the 19th of August, elected Reddy unanimously under the MLA quota.

V.V.S. Narasimhancharyulu, the Secretary of the Legislature, gave Gutha Sukhender Reddy the certificate.

Sukhender Reddy addressed the media and thanked K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, for considering his name for the post of MLC.  He said, “I will use my post for the service of the people.” He further added, “Government of Telangana is for the farmers. I thank the Chief Minister for providing me an opportunity to serve farmers as the head of Rythu Samavaya Samithi.”

The selection of Sukhender Reddy took place due to the post of the MLC becoming vacant after the disqualification of K. Yadava Reddy.

TRS ministers such as G. Jagadish Reddy, V. Prashanth Reddy, B. Lingaiah Yadav and others were present during the selection process.

Sukhender Reddy will soon take charge as the MLC of the TRS.
