On the 28th of April, Thursday Google signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Telangana Government, providing technical and financial support to youth and women entrepreneurs.

According to sources,  Google in collaboration with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government would provide various scholarships for Google Career Certificates to Telangana’s youth, and support women entrepreneurs through digital, business, and financial skills training, and strengthen the Government’s school modernization efforts, enhancing digital teaching.  Furthermore, it would also enhance learning tools and solutions in the education and Information Technological sector for women.

Under the joint effort, Google would extend support for improving public transportation, and technologies in agriculture. During the occasion,  Google also unveiled the design of its ground-up development spread over 7.3-acres of land in Gachibowli.  The 3 million square foot building prioritizes sustainability and energy efficiency throughout its design.

During the event, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao, the Information Technology and Urban Development Minister of Telangana said, “I am pleased that Google is deepening its roots in Hyderabad through this landmark building which incorporates sustainability into its design, keeping in mind Hyderabad’s large and future-focused talent pool.”   He further added, “Google has been working with the Government of Telangana since 2017, using its solutions to support our vision of a ‘Digital Telangana’ and furthering our mutual aim of making every citizen digitally empowered.  Our previous MoUs with them has resulted in some great initiatives that have positively affected citizens from all walks of life. This time we are focusing on making a step-change in communities such as youth, women, and students and citizen services.”

Meanwhile, speaking about the signed MoU, Mr. Sanjay Gupta, the Country Head & Vice President of Google India, said, “We have partnered with the Telangana government to bring the benefits of Google’s technologies and programs to serve the needs of people in the State.” 

Meanwhile, with the MoU signed between Google and the Telangana Government, better digital education and training would be provided to the women, youths, and students of Telangana.  Furthermore, today’s event was attended by the officials from Google India and TRS ministers and leaders.
