The nomination process for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) standing committee started from the 5th of November, Friday.

The State Election Commission released the dates of the GHMC Standing Committee Election to be the 20th of November. The Standing Committee of the GHMC would have 15 members, who would be elected by the votes of the 150 GHMC corporators. 

The GHMC Standing Committee plays an important role in the development of the GHMC limits, as it passes all the major decisions pertaining to growth.  All the development works worth more than Rs. 3 crores, would be passed by the GHMC Standing Committee. 

The notification regarding the same was released recently on the 2nd of November, following which the nomination started. 

The nomination process for the GHMC Standing Committee would continue till the 11th of November, scrutiny of the filed nomination papers would be done on the 12th of November.  Withdrawal of the nomination papers would be allowed till the 15th of November.  The nomination paper would be submitted to the Additional Election Commissioner Mr. D.S. Lokesh Kumar. 

The final list of the GHMC Standing Committee nominations would be released by the electoral officer (EO) at 3:00 P.M., on the 15th of November. 

The election for the committee is scheduled on the 20th of November and the results would be announced on the same day, after 3:00 P.M.

As of now, nomination from Mallapur Corporator Pannala Devendar Reddy was filed with the AEC on the 5th of November, Friday.  More nominations are expected in the next three days as the last date for filing papers is November 11 till 3:00 P.M.

The GHMC Standing Committee election is scheduled on the 20th of November, from 10:00 A.M., to 3:00 P.M.

The results would be announced after 3:00 P.M., the same day (20th of November.)
