The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) proposed 25 function halls in Hyderabad city.

On the 22nd of November, Tuesday, the GHMC proposed seven new multipurpose function halls, after the popular use of such halls by underprivileged people for various occasions.  In the given proposal, the GHMC officials mentioned the need for such facilities, which is a great alternative for poor people in Hyderabad city.  The proposal of 25 halls is said to be prepared with an estimated cost of Rs. 95.70 crores.  Notably, of the 25 proposed facilities, the construction of nine function halls worth Rs. 30.89 crores are underway and is expected to be inaugurated soon.  The charges of the new halls would be decided after the inauguration, but expected to be less than those private banquets available in Hyderabad.

Moreover, as of now, the GHMC limit has 9 such function hall facilities, mostly two storeyed buildings, equipped with Kalyana Mandapam, dining area, modern kitchen area, parking facility, drinking water facility, separate rooms for bride and groom, bathrooms and compound walls.  If approved, the GHMC would make blueprints and start construction of the new 7 proposed halls, which would add to the existing and under construction function halls respectively, taking the tally to 25 halls, as proposed by the GHMC.

However, the new halls would be constructed after the approval of the concerned department of the Telangana Government.
