On the 6th of November, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) demolished buildings for widening roads in Gopanpally, Gachibowli in GHMC limits.

The GHMC officials along with the revenue department officials took up demolition works to expand roads in the area.  The buildings constructed on the two sides of the roads were demolished.  However, the locals of the area raised objections and protested against the GHMC officials. The people also said, the owners of the demolished buildings did not receive any notice from the State Government or the concerned authority regarding the demolition of the buildings.

Meanwhile, the GHMC officials denied the allegations and said, the authorities have sent a notice regarding the demolition in 2017 and asked the people residing there to vacate the place.

As of now, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Corporator rushed to the spot and spoke to the officials.  The Telangana police also rushed to the spot and are trying to control the situation at the spot.
