Mr. G. Kishan Reddy, the Union Minister for Telangana State, tested positive for the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel  Coronavirus (COVID-19,) on the 20th of January, Thursday.

The minister said that he moved into quarantine as he developed mild symptoms of the virus.  He asked the people who came in contact with him to undergo tests.  The news of Mr. Kishan Reddy being COVID-19 positive was confirmed through Twitter.  He took to Twitter and said “I have tested positive for COVID-19 today with mild symptoms.  Following all the necessary protocols, I have isolated myself and I am under home quarantine. I request all those who have recently come in contact with me to isolate themselves and get tested.”

Responding to the news of Mr. G. Kishan Reddy being COVID-19 positive, Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Union Ministers wished Mr. G. Kishan Reddy a speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, with over 3,500 COVID-19 new cases, the Telugu State of Telangana is witnessing a  massive spike in the COVID-19 cases.
