Four prisoners who were undergoing treatment for the Novel Coronavirus at the Telangana Government run Gandhi Hospital escaped.

According to the sources, all four of them escaped during the early hours of the 27th of August.

The prisoners who are lodged in Charlapalli jail, were rushed to Gandhi Hospital for treatment after they tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

The prisoners were found to have escaped after removing bathroom grills on the second floor of the hospital’s main building. 

A total of 10 inmates were being treated for the deadly disease at the Gandhi Hospital. 

Of the total 10 prisoners, four of them escaped, officials said.

The Telangana police launched an operation and are trying to catch the absconding convicts.
