The Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials carried out raids at several granite companies, located in Karimnagar and Hyderabad, in Telangana.

The multiple ED raids started on the morning of the 9th of November, Tuesday, in connection with the alleged financial irregularities case. 

According to sources, approximately 30 teams of ED officials are conducting raids at various locations including Hyderguda and Somajiguda in Hyderabad and Karimnagar.  The raids were carried out as per the complaint that several granite companies in the Telugu State of Telangana, are mining granite illegally.   Some of the companies which are being searched are: White Granite Company.  

The houses of Mr. Gangula Venkanna, the Director of Shwetha Granite Export Pvt Limited, Mr. Bonala Rajesham and Mr. Ponnanneni Gangadhar Rao, who are directors of private companies, registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in Telangana are also being searched by the ED.

The raids were said to be in connection with the recent Chhattisgarh Coal Scam case.  Notably, in October, the Enforcement Directorate seized crores of rupees, from top businessmen and political leaders in connection with a coal scam and financial irregularities.  In addition, Hemant Sorani, the Chief Minister of Chhatisgarh, was also booked into the connection and was questioned by the ED.

In this regard, the ED is conducting raids at several granite companies in Hyderabad and Karimnagar, which is still underway.
