The Supreme Court (SC) adjourned the hearing of the Disha rape and murder case and the Hyderabad encounter case to the 18th of December.

S.A. Bobde, the Chief Justice of India, announced the next hearing date, saying the SC would scrutinise the report of the Telangana High Court regarding the case.  Chief Justice Bobde said the Court would study the reports and analysis of the Telangana HC in the case before giving any judgement.

The Telangana HC and the SC are reviewing the petition filed by G.S. Mani, an advocate, against the Cyberabad Police team which killed the four accused in the Disha rape and murder case.

On the 6th of December, the Cyberabad Police team led by V.C. Sajjanar, the Commissioner of Cyberabad Police, killed the four accused in an encounter when the latter were trying to escape.

As of now, a committee constituted by the Apex Court is investigating the Hyderabad encounter and Disha rape and murder cases from scratch.  The team is expected to submit a report regarding the same within two weeks and complete the investigation within 6 months.
