At around 2 P.M., on Sunday noon, the people who came to visit the Kattamaisamma temple noticed the two feet long baby crocodile moving on the drain bed. As it was the first time the neighborhood spotted a loose crocodile, mayhem ensued. Once the things settled down three men went into the drain and trapped the baby crocodile. It took two hours despite using ropes and sticks as the baby was a wild one and tried to break free from the bondage.

After this the police were informed about the animal and two constables reached the spot to collect the animal and took it to the zoo. The police and the zoo officials believe that the animal might have seeped in from the Musi river as the drain meets the river near the Chaderghat area.
