On the 29th of March, Khammam got its new cremation ground. Officials of the district developed the ground for final rites with all modern developments.

The Hindu Cemetery (Vaikuntha dham) in the city of Khammam with modern construction would be inaugurated by K.T. Rama Rao, the Information Technology and Municipal Administration Minister of Telangana.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government is constructing cemeteries under the name of ‘Vaikuntha dham’ as part of priority programs across the State.

The Cremation ground of Khamman is worth Rs. 2 crores and is spread over 3.5 acres of land.

With this, now Telangana has five crematoriums with a waiting gallery for those who come to the funeral, a barbershop, a bathroom and toilets. A special attraction is the 20 feet tall idol of Lord Shiva at Vaikuntha Dham along with the vehicle parking.

The inauguration date is yet to be announced.
