Ahead of the Munugode by elections, the Communist Party of India (CPI) party in Telangana, extended support to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)

On the 19th of August, Friday, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana and the President of the TRS, met with the leaders of the CPI.  The meeting is said to be in view of the Munugode Assembly by election.  It is to be noted, after the resignation of Mr. Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy (the former Indian National Congress leader) as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Munugode, the seat fell vacant, paving the way for a by election.

Political parties like the TRS and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are leaving no stone unturned to strengthen the party and win the Munugode Assembly by election.

It is to be noted, to ensure their victory in the Munugode constituency, the TRS sought support from the CPI in Telangana.  In regard to this, Mr. Chada Venkat Reddy, the senior leader of the  CPI met with Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao and assured their support.  The meeting was held at the Pragati Bhavan, in Hyderabad, Telangana.   Furthermore, the CPI would also take part in election campaign and promote the TRS candidate for the Munugode Assembly by election.

Furthermore, Mr. Chada Venkat Reddy along with Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, would also visit Munugode on Saturday, the 20th of August and would officially announce the support to the TRS.  In addition, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao would also likely to announce the TRS candidate for the Munugode Assembly by election.

On the other hand, the Election Commission of India is yet to announce the date of the Munugode Assembly by election.
