The Telangana Government, on the 2nd of May, announced to not ease the lockdown till the 7th of May.


Though the nation wide lockdown 2.0 is proposed to end on the 3rd of May, the Telangana Government extended the lockdown till the 7th of May.  Therefore, the relaxations allowed by the Central Government from the 4th of May, would not be implemented in Telangana till the 7th of May.

K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, directed the officials concerned for the COVID-19 situation in the State to be strict with the guidelines of the lockdown in the State.

The decision regarding the exemptions post the lockdown 2.0, would be taken during the Cabinet meeting organised to be held on the 5th of May.

KCR would chair the meeting and chalk out strategies for the Green, Orange and Red Zones in Telangana.

According to the Central Government’s list, Telangana has 5 Red Zones, 19 Orange Zones and 8 Green Zones.

Meanwhile, Telangana reported a total of 1,044 cases of the Novel Coronavirus with 28 fatalities till date.
