In view of the rising number of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Omicron cases, the  All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) cancelled winter vacation.

On the 4th of January, Tuesday, announced the cancellation of doctors’ winter vacation.  In regard to this, the AIIMS issued a notice, dated on the 3rd of January, Monday.  

The issued notice read, “In continuation of the office memoranda of dated December 22 and 27, it is to inform that the Competent Authority has decided to cancel the remaining part of the winter vacation from 5th to 10th January due to ongoing Covid 19 and Omicron pandemic.”

In addition, all the faculties on leave were also asked to join back duties with immediate effect. 

Meanwhile, till Tuesday, India reported 37,479 COVID-19  cases along with 124 deaths.  In addition, the nation also reported a total of 1,892 Omicron cases till date.
